Bad Flyers features illustrations of all the flightless birds and reluctant flyers of New Zealand. Each illustration is accompanied by the bird's name in English, te reo Māori, and Latin, as well a sentence about the bird. Many of the the backgrounds around the birds feature the endemic ferns of New Zealand.
